Ms. Heinsman and Mrs. Phillips took the students of the Math 5/6 Class at AES on a field trip to the Science Museum of Virginia to explore the temporary math exhibit, MathAlive! Students were able to see how math they covered in class was used in sports, engineering, meteorology, and art.

Our 5th-grade scientists are exploring the wonders of electricity! ⚡️ They learned how to build circuits, test materials to discover insulators and conductors and power a light bulb. Watching their faces light up with discovery was electrifying! 🌟

Apples, Apples, Apples - Ms. Compton's class had an enjoyable time incorporating apples into their lessons across various subjects. They worked together on a recipe to bake apple pies after reading "The Biggest Apple Ever." The students explored the Life Cycle of an Apple Tree and were thrilled to find the star shape inside an apple. They gathered data from tasting different apples and created graphs to determine their preferred apple dip. Additionally, they participated in an apple experiment and utilized apples to understand fractions.
