On Thursday, May 8th King William County Public Schools held their 2nd annual Teacher of the Year/Retiree Banquet. The group enjoyed fellowship and the opportunity to celebrate many teachers and staff. We would like to thank our Retirees for their many, many years of dedication to our students and schools. Enjoy your time!
We would also like to congrat the receipents of each school for being selected as Teacher of the Year for your individual schools.
Big Congrats goes to Mrs. Amy Hood, King William High School for being selected as the Teacher of the Year for King William County.
We would like to shout out to Dixon's Automotive (along with other King William businesses) for putting together a basket of gift cards and goodies for the receipent of Teacher of the Year. We would also like to think Horace Man and Heiff Jones for their sponsorship contribution to the banquet. As always a thank you to All Stewed Up Catering who catered the food for the second year in a row.

Mrs. Gregory's science class visited Maymont Park yesterday! They attended a lesson on animal adaptations before exploring the Robins Nature Center and exhibits. They also walked through the park, looking at other animals and discussing plant and animal adaptations. They enjoyed a picnic lunch, and beautiful weather was the icing on the cake!

Celebrating our amazing school nurses today! Thank you for your tireless dedication to the health and well-being of our students and staff. We appreciate you, Nurse Davis!

Eighth-grade student, Mason Mielke, set a new HHMS record for the number of Pacer laps run! Mason has had his eyes set on breaking the record since 6th grade, and this is a testament to goal setting, hard work, and perseverance! The test is designed to measure aerobic capacity, and participants run 20 meters back and forth, getting progressively faster. The test continues until the participant misses two markers in a row, or misses markers twice total. The Pacer test is part of our FitnessGram testing, conducted multiple times a year in our Health and PE classes. The old record was 112, and Mason pushed himself hard to reach the line on his 113th lap. Enjoy the image of Mason ripping the old record.

✨ Thank you to our KWCPS SCHOOL LUNCH SUPERHEROES! 🦸♂️🍏 Heroes behind the scenes, our school nutrition professionals work hard to nourish our kids! 💪💕

The 8th grade promotion is coming! This is an opportunity to recognize the hard work our students put in at HHMS and send them off to high school for the next step in their educational journey! Each student may bring 2 guests. RSVP is required for attendees - call 804-769-3434 extension 516 to provide guest names. We ask our students to dress nicely, but this is not a formal event such as high school graduation. The program should take approximately 45-60 minutes to complete, and afterward, there will be opportunities for photos. Parents may check out students after the ceremony to begin spring break and continue their celebration!

🌈 Happy Substitute Teacher Appreciation Day! 🌈 A big shoutout to our incredible subs at KWCPS! 🙌 Your contributions are invaluable, and we appreciate all that you do! 💖✨

The Upper Mattaponi Indian Tribe recently donated funds for new books to be added to Hamilton Holmes Middle School Library. The students and staff can now enjoy these extra books with many titles chosen to enhance the curriculum as well as student interest. Native American books and books about social and emotional learning, such as books on anti-bullying, getting along, friendship,p and acceptance, were also carefully selected along with a variety to enhance both fiction and nonfiction in the library. Hamilton Holmes Library would like to thank the Upper Mattaponi for such a generous gift that will be shared for not only current students but for future students as well. Books truly are the gifts that keep on giving!
